Learn and Serve Tampa: MLK Day of Service 2024 [HIL]

Learn and Serve Tampa Inc is proud to partner with the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation DepartmentThe Mission Continues - Tampa Chapter, and Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful to host a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service event on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at McKay Bay Nature Park, located at 134 34th St., Tampa, FL. 

This opportunity is open to up to 300 volunteers of all ages and families are encouraged to participate. Each participant must register

Timeline:

  • 8:30am: Check-in and orientation.
  • 9am-11:30am: cleanup and beautification activities.
  • 11:30am-12:30pm: cook-out style lunch and Environmental Education Fair
  • 12pm: brief presentation and remarks. 
  • 12:30pm: event concludes. 

Requirements:

  • Youth ages 5-12 require a parent or other adult chaperone. 
  • Youth ages 13-17 need to have chaperones in attendance at a ratio of 1 adult per 10 youths.
  • Only volunteers aged 18 and older can assistance with invasive removal.

Registration:
If you plan to participate, review the following waivers for participation from Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful and Learn and Serve Tampa Inc. Complete all relevant sections and submit:

  • Your official volunteer registration submission HERE is an indication that you plan to arrive no later that 8:30 A.M. on Saturday, January 13, 2024 to volunteer.  Please email kverdi@learnandservetampa.org if your plans change. 
  • All adult participants are required to submit The Mission Continues registration link.
