GREETER/SCREENER
Greeters/Screeners involves warmly welcoming all site visitors to create a pleasant atmosphere. Additionally, you will screen taxpayers to assess the assistance they require and verify if they possess the necessary documents to complete their tax returns. Greeters/Screeners are required to successfully pass two (2) exams: the Standards of Conduct and the Intake/Quality Review exam. Greeters/Screeners must attend the Greeters/Screeners webinar.
STEP ONE: CREATE A UNITED WAY SUNCOAST VOLUNTEER ACCOUNT
All Greeters/Screeners must have a UWS account to participate in VITA.
- Returning Volunteers: Log in to your UWS account by clicking the yellow "log in" button at the top right corner of this page.
- New Volunteers: To create an account, click here.
STEP TWO: REGISTER
All volunteers new and existing are required to complete the Registration form annually. To continue, verify you are logged in to your UWS account then complete the 2025 Registration Form below. Volunteers who do not complete the Registration Form will not receive important notifications regarding the VITA program.
STEP THREE: CERTIFY
New Greeters/Screeners can register and attend the virtual orientation (step four) and those who previously volunteered can self-certify.
Greeter/Screeners must complete these two exams:
- Volunteer Standards of Conduct
- Intake/Interview and Quality Review

STEP FIVE: VOLUNTEER
Once certified, proceed to volunteer by registering at any of our VITA locations.
