VITA 2025 Tax Preparer Orientation: Virtual (2+ years experience)
Orientation is required for all volunteers who prepare taxes with the VITA program.
The VITA orientation for volunteers serves multiple crucial purposes within the program, supported by the IRS. The orientation is for Tax Preparer's with 2+ years experience and is a crucial component of preparing volunteers for their roles in this program. This Orientation session provides Experienced volunteers with over two years VITA a comprehensive understanding of the program's objectives and their role in serving underserved communities. It covers essential training on tax laws, hands-on software use, and emphasizes quality assurance, confidentiality, and ethical standards. Volunteers will develop client interaction skills, cultural competency, and problem-solving abilities, while being updated on tax code changes. The orientation also fosters teamwork and stresses the importance of ongoing learning throughout the tax season.
This session will be taking place virtually. An email or calendar invite with a link to the virtual session will be sent a few days in advance.
Registration will close at 9am on Tuesday, December 10.
