Pack Produce with the YMCA Veggie Van: 9/11 Day of Service 2024 [HIL]
The September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance is a chance to honor the sacrifices made that day by remembering the heroes, armed forces, first responders, and countless others' acts of service to defend our nation's freedom. United Way Suncoast is excited to bring you this great volunteer opportunity with one of our strategic community partners, Tampa Metropolitan YMCA.
The Tampa Metropolitan YMCA Veggie Van's goal is to improve overall well-being by distributing fresh and nutritious fruits and vegetables directly to communities. By increasing access to healthy and affordable food, the Veggie Van seeks to address food and nutrition insecurity in Hillsborough and East Pasco counties.
Volunteers will pack produce into bags for distribution.
ALL volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes, preferably non-slip (i.e. sneakers).
