Opportunity Details

Delivery Volunteer/Home Decorator [HIL]

Home Makers of Hope provides essential furnishings and household items to families struggling with poverty. Furnishing a home is expensive for anyone, but especially for families suffering hardships or returning from homelessness.  After paying for basic needs such as food, rent and utilities, there is usually little left to buy beds or furniture. We make a home for these families by providing linens and beds to sleep on, fully equipping their kitchens where families can have meals together and decorating living areas to encourage family time.

Strong individuals are needed to help load and unload furniture into the trucks and into the homes. Once there, men and women are also needed to assemble the beds, hang pictures, put on the linens, put away dishes, etc.

Due to COVID-19, volunteers meet at the warehouse in Ybor City and will follow the truck in their own vehicles to the designated pick-up locations. Only individuals living in the same household can ride together.

Below is the delivery and set up schedule:

Mondays: North Tampa area  9:30 AM - 2:30 PM
Tuesdays: South Tampa area  9:00 AM - 2:30 PM
Thursdays: Brandon/East County area  10:30 AM - 2:30 PM
